The interpreter training system is a professional conferencing system. It is based on the sophisticated technology of a multimedia language laboratory. The main difference is that one or several interpreter desks per booth can be used to facilitate the job of an interpreter.
The interpreter unit is available in two different versions:
1. Student Booth Controller SBC/10 used for didactical learning environment
2. Interpreter Booth Controller IBC/12 used for professional interpreter systems
Booth versions can be combined in the same system.
The system enables the students or interpreter to listen to a speech/text of an original language and simultaneously translate it into another language. In case the student/interpreter has no knowledge of the original language, he can use the relay function into another booth and listen to an already translated text in a language known to him.
The system consists of several delegated microphones together with language selector modules. These units enables the delegates to choose between listening to the native language of the speaker or to an already translated channel (booth).
The delegate microphone system is controlled by a user friendly graphical interface running on a standard computer in order to operate the system.
The multimedia functionality of the system allows monitor and/or computer set-up inside the interpreter booth transmitting images, sounds, videos, comments, etc. to the monitors. Cameras can be installed for shooting the simultaneous translation job.
In case a computer is used, recording possibilities of sounds and videos are available via the virtual recorder software installed.
The interpreter€™s booth is designed to meet the following requirments:
Acoustic separation between different languages spoken simultaneously
No mutual interference between interpreted languages or speakers in the conference room is possible
A comfortable environment to anable interpreters to maintain the intense concentration required for their work
